Development Centre with Brighton & Hove Albion FC
First Class Football is aware of the importance of advanced coaching for those players of high ability in order for them to progress as far as possible within the game.
Due to a lack of professional clubs in the county of Kent and surrounding areas there are limited opportunities for players to be scouted and receive such coaching. First Class Football can provide such coaching though through our established Development Centres. Our Development Centres are linked to Brighton & Hove Albion FC which means that we have access to their curriculum and receive guest visits from Brighton coaches, plus we are also invited to play matches against representative teams.
Our Development Centres cater for 6-12 year olds and include three age groups. This season the younger groups (6-7) will be coached by Craig, who as a young Level 2 coach combines enthusiasm and quality to make sure sessions are always fun and educational, the middle groups (8-9) are coached by Andy, who has coached the Wycombe Wanderers FC u12 Centre of Excellence team and elite players at Reading FC, whilst the older groups (10-12) are coached by Ben, who has also coached elite players at Reading FC. Players that we have been at our Development Centres have also been invited to train with Chelsea FC, Fulham FC, Charlton FC, Brighton & Hove FC, Gillingham FC and Millwall FC.
Development Centre Aims
The objective of our Development Centres is to to identify players of strong ability and potential and to provide them with the necessary skills and knowledge to allow them to progress as far as possible within the game.
The centres are invitation only and players are invited once they are identified by us or recommended to us by one of our contacts. We are actively trying to arrange further games for the boys both with local teams and professional club development/academy teams in order to fully develop their skills and to give them the chance to shine!
'Development Centre' is a term that can be used too freely and in line with our reliable reputation for high-quality coaching we do not believe in establishing a centre in each town that we are working. Though there are some very talented players in local areas there are not enough to justify a centre in every town. We fashion our Development Centres on the same format found at professional clubs. Our centres in Maidstone & Tunridge Wells act as a base for children to come to from the surrounding local areas. Only the most experienced and qualified coaches provide the training and you can be sure that our centres exist to advance a player's ability rather than being a money-making venture.
If you know a player that is of good ability and will benefit from advanced coaching then please contact us at development@firstclassfootball.com.
